Just recently Los Gauchos hosted the friendly folks at American Gun Dog (Harley Jackson), and ex major league baseball slugger Ryan Klesko for what we are confident you will agree (after seeing the video) is some of the best bird hunting in Uruguay.  American Gun Dog, sponsored in part by Benelli, put the shotguns, and Los Gauchos to the ultimate test—high, high, volume shooting and hot barrels, creating a lot of wear and tear on the arms, and the staff.  They shot doves with us in the western portion of the country, followed by some classic Uruguay duck hunting in the rice fields located in the county of Rocha.

Uruguay duck hunting offers a chance for serious waterfowlers to shoot over seen species of different ducks over the course of a three day hunt.   Our guides are highly skilled at calling and decoying the ducks, and their planning, scouting, and pre-hunt preparation is evidenced in the results—big bags of ducks following every shoot.  Those lucky enough to experience duck hunting in Uruguay will find the liberal limits to be a welcome reprieve from the restrictions placed on waterfowlers in North America, where on can count the limit of ducks that can be harvested on one hand.

Certainly, there is enough gunning to be had on a three day Uruguay dove hunting trip to satisfy even the most demanding international wingshooter.  Therefore, one can book a stand alone shoot, or a combination, which normally lasts five days.   The other species to be combine while dove hunting in Uruguay is up to you…your options are: pigeons, Perdiz, and ducks.
